WEEK 2 (buy the components)

This is peltier or thermoelectric that i use for this project. I choose this component because its suitable and easily to assamble to the solar panel. This peltier can buy at jalan pasar and E-bay. The price is quite different. We need to searching and analyse before buy it. I had order at E-bay. So, i need to waiting around 1 month to assamble this peltier at the back of solar panel.

The solar panel that use is monocrystalline.(picture above)

Mono cells are made by growing a cylindrical ingot of crystal silicon from a small seed crystal. The ingot is one crystal, hence the name ‘mono-crystalline’ or single-crystal. This ingot is then trimmed into a square and sliced into wafers. The ‘mono-crystalline’ cell is most effective when placed at 0° (North in the southern hemisphere and South in the Northern hemisphere).

The specification for solar panel use.
This solar panel had buy at Jalan pasar.

WEEK 1 (review the previous planner)

In this new semester, second phase of final year project, i starting with reconstruct the planner. I need to change the objective.

- To cooling the solar panel in order to get temperature below 25°c
- To control or prevent overheating solar panel.
- To produce the low cost of production for electricity

Solar cells are sensitive to temperature. Increases in temperature reduce the band gap of a semiconductor, thereby effecting most of the semiconductor material parameters. The temperature at and below than 25°c is suitable for solar panel. The decrease in the band gap of a semiconductor with increasing temperature can be viewed as increasing the energy of the electrons in the material. Lower energy is therefore needed to break the bond. In the bond model of a semiconductor band gap, reduction in the bond energy also reduces the band gap. Therefore increasing the temperature reduces the band gap. Other than that, increasing the temperature, will make the efficiency more than 1.

End of the week (Week 15)

This week is the last week to submitted the proposal...time is to short...I had do all the part needed in proposal.
-The short abstract
-Long introduction
-More problem statement
-Literature review
-Methodology
    - Block diagram
    - Flow chart
    - Equipment
- Objectives
- Benefits from this project
- Hard work plan
- Higher Budget
- Conclusion
- References

All of this had done and need to submit this week...

Last minute i had discuss with my Advisor and my beloved friend, i got a changes plan..
to cooling the solar panel, i change to use thermo electric..

Thermoelectric cooling uses the Peltier effect to create a heat flux between the junction of two different types of materials. A Peltier cooler, heater, or thermoelectric heat pump is a solid-state active heat pump which transfers heat from one side of the device to the other, with consumption of electrical energy, depending on the direction of the current. Such an instrument is also called a Peltier device, Peltier heat pump, solid state refrigerator, or thermoelectric cooler (TEC). They can be used either for heating or for cooling (refrigeration), although in practice the main application is cooling. It can also be used as a temperature controller that either heats or cools. So, i will use this thermoelectric to cooling the solar panel by tacky around the solar panel. This style nobody had try before. So, hopefully i can do it succesfull.

Lastly, i hope i can attract madam as my advisor to give excellent mark..hehe..that's all....tq

Proposal (WEEk 14)

This week, i had done do the literature review, methodology, list of equipment, the objectives, work plan and the budget.

Proposal (Week 13)

3 weeks more to submit the fyp proposal...huhu...for this week, i do the literature review..the contain like similar with the introduction that i had post before this...about absorption, adsorption and desiccant cooling. ,i also touch up the work plan...that's all for today..:)
